Class 59 - £5 Prize Money:  1st £15; 2nd £12; 3rd £10

11am in Countryside area of Showfield 

This Show is affiliated to the Donkey Breed Society.  The In Hand Champion Donkey at this Show automatically qualifies for the relevant Championship at the DBS Annual Supreme Championship Show in August 2008 provided it is owned by a fully paid up member of the DBS. 

A Donkey may win more than one Championship at Shows but will qualify only once for the DBS Supreme Championship Show.  Where the In Hand Champion Donkey has previously qualified, the Reserve Champion Donkey will be deemed the Qualifier. 

Stallions and Entire Colts must be properly dressed in bridle & bit, with leading rein correctly attached to the bit. 

All Prize Winners in the Classes 57 to 61 inclusive for Donkeys must parade at the Parade of Winners or forfeit their Prize Money. 

Class 

55         Best Condition & Turnout.  Any age or sex.  To be judged 75% on Condition and 25% on Turnout.  Confirmation will not be taken into account. (The winner of this Class is not eligible for the Championship).  

56         Young handler (No entry Fee).  For children between 3 and  15 years of age (on day of              Show). No entire male donkeys. 

57         Stallions or Geldings.  Four years and over. 

58         Mare.  Four years or over, or Mare with own foal at foot. 

59         Best Foal, to be six weeks old or over on Show Day and born in current year. 

             ENTRY FEE £5. 

60         Yearling Colt, Filly or Gelding. 

61         Colt, Filly or Gelding, two and three years old. 

C5 - The Wessex Watch Company Perpetual Challenge Cup to the BestAnimal in the Donkey Classes, with the exception of Classes 55 & 56. 

S16 - Rosettes.  Donkey Breed Society Rosettes will be awarded for the BestGelding Class 57, Best Foal in Class 59, Best Gelding in Class 60, Best twoyear-old  Best Gelding in Class 61 and Best Novice Donkey in Classes 57, 58,60 & 61 and Best Young Handler aged between 3 and 15 years of age on theday of the Show in Class 56 provided the Owner is a Member of the Donkeybreed Society. 

S17 - The Melplash Agricultural Society Donkey Challenge Trophy, kindly presented by Mrs G Pudenz to the Winner of Class 56. Mrs G Pudenz will present a Perpetual Trophy to the Winner of Class 55. 

Classes are open to everyone, whether or not a member of the Donkey Breed Society, but DBS rosettes will only be awarded to DBS Members.
