Entry Fee: £7.50 refundable after the Show, if entry forward. £25 towards travelling expenses will be paid by The Melplash Agricultural Society, to each lorry, providing the exhibitor has at least one entry forward on Show Day (see Rule 15). Classes 81a & b may be amalgamated if in the Judge's opinion there are not enough entries forward. HEAVY HORSE PARADE: All competitors are invited to join the Parade in the Main Ring at 2.30 prompt and will receive a Special Rosette. All Prize Winners must parade in the Parade of Winners or forfeit their prize money.
Class 81 is a Qualifier for the West of England Heavy Horse Championships, to be held on Sunday 23rd September 2007 at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Agricultural Society's Turnpike Showground, Motcombe, N Dorset.
Class 85 is a Qualifier for the West of England Heavy Horse Championships, to be held on Sunday 23rd September 2007 at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Agricultural Society's Turnpike Showground, Motcombe, N Dorset. Awards at Championship 2007 - Sponsored by Wadworth & Co Ltd., & Northgate Brewery, Devizes Each Champion £250, Sash & Rosette Each Reserve Champion £150, Sash & Rosette The Remaining Finalists (attending Championship) £25.00 & Rosette. RULES OF QUALIFICATION
1. Qualifiers must be from Recognised Heavy Horse Breeds, of any age, Stallions, Colts, Gelding, Fillies and Mares. 2a. The In-Hand Qualifier must be the Show Champion of the Day. If already qualified then if necessary the Qualifier position can go down the championship line to 4th position. If the top four horses have already qualified no qualifier can be nominated. b. The Show Harness Qualifier must be the highest placed on the day, down to 4th position if necessary. A set of Show Harness can only be used upon one qualifying horse. 3. The same horse cannot qualify for the In Hand and the Show Harness Championships throughout the championship season. 4. Should a Qualifying Horse refuse a first qualification this will exclude that horse from qualifying in the same Championship at any further Qualifying Shows this year. 5. Should a Qualifier subsequently be unable to attend the Championships, on the 23rd September at the Turnpike Showground between Shaftesbury and Gillingham in North Dorset then the Championship Secretary must be notified no later than 3rd September 2007. The position can then be passed to the next eligible horse. 6. This Competition is for the best shod horse in the Heavy Horse Section (Classes 80 - 85). The judge will examine each horse before or during the line-up for preliminary judging, taking into consideration: a. Condition of the feet b. The making (or preparation) and fitting of the shoes c. Nailing, and position of the clips. Normal shoes and showing plates are equally acceptable, PROVIDED they are suitable for the horse. THE FINAL JUDGING OF THE BEST TURNED OUT HEAVY HORSE AND PARADE OF ALL HEAVY HORSES ATTENDING THE SHOW WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE MAIN RING TO JOIN THE GRAND PARADE
