The annual Melplash Agricultural Society’s Hedge Laying & Ploughing Match will be held on Saturday 21st September 2013 at Higher Langdon, near Beaminster (DT8 3NN) by kind permission of Mrs Tessa Mackenzie-Green.  Our schedule of classes will be available to download soon.  We will also be offering our free hedge laying training course again, venue and date to be confirmed.  The training day is completely free and open to Novices and Young Farmers' Club members.  If you are interested in attending either of these events please contact the office on 01308 423 337.

The annual Hedging & Ploughing Match is an important day in the Melplash Agricultural Society calendar and has been so since the Society’s inception in 1847.  The aim is to promote and showcase the traditional skills of hedge laying and ploughing, to recognise the local experts in the area through the competitions whilst encouraging more people to keep these skills going in the locality.
