2012 Melplash Show - Thursday 23rd August

The Showcase for West Dorset farmers & food producers in Bridport, Dorset

The Melplash Agricultural Show takes place at the Showground, West Bay, Bridport on Thursday 23rd August.   Attracting around 16,000 visitors a year from town and country, it is no surprise that it is regarded as the South West’s Premier one day Agricultural Show, and is known by regular visitors as the ‘friendly’ Show.

Having not lost its original roots, the Melplash Show still remains today a showcase for local farmers, producers, growers and craftsmen in the area.  This year as always there is going to be a great selection of livestock as well as numerous horse, pony and donkey classes to see and compete in.  Alongside this will be the opportunity to enter the many horticultural, floral, home produce and handicraft classes.  Schedules for all classes will be available in May and can be obtained from the Show Office or downloaded from the Show website.

This year visitors will be entertained in the Toolstation main ring by Jason Smyth Adrenaline Tour, an unrivalled Motorcycle Stunt Show as well as a magnificent display of Agricultural and Trade vehicles with Heavy Horses.  There is also going to be a couple of surprise guests around the Showfield - Professor Crump and Sheridan the Sheep Dog- who we are sure will keep everyone amused!!

With the cookery theatre, country pursuits arena and over 300 trade stands from local food, crafts to heavy machinery there is plenty to interest everyone.  Applications for Trade Stand space including the very popular food hall are available now from the website.
