Entries are now open for our brand new Best Cruffin Competition! The competition is very kindly being sponsored and judged by Rise Bakery in Symondsbury and Rise Café Bar in West Bay.
A Cruffin is what happens when a croissant meets a muffin! It is quite simply croissant dough cooked in a muffin mould filled with a variety of cream, jam, egg custard, curd etc. These can be piped on afterwards or during the proving stage. Originating from the States, there are plenty of fantastic recipes on line!
Entrants are asked to submit two home made Cruffins on a disposable plate for judging. Each entry should include the recipe with a list of ingredients. The croissant dough to be made from scratch and the filling and decoration to be of your own choice. Cruffins to be judged on appearance, creativity, texture and flavour.
