Frogmary Green Farm in South Petherton is farmed by Nick and Claire Bragg. They are this year’s winners of the Melplash Agricultural Society’s Large Farm class (over 600 acres) in our recent competition.
“It was a huge honour to be winners of the large Farms Competition especially with so many diverse businesses in the category. We are also very proud to have received 3rd prize in the best crop of Winter barley. It is very much a Frogmary Green Farm team performance!” said Nick Bragg.
Having started from a greenfield site, Nick and Claire Bragg have spent the last twenty years establishing the farm and diversifying the business they currently run. Frogmary Green Farm is an arable and poultry farm with a cafe, florist, wedding/event venue, wildflower meadow, renewables (biomass, PV & AD), all of which are intrinsically linked by the same ethos – respect for the environment and sustainable activity.
“Our farm is our home, place of work and a constant hive of activity. With a diverse set of businesses, farming is still at our core, managing crops and digestate from the Anaerobic Digester. We enjoy opening our gates to the general public for Open Farm Sunday with over 20,000 visitors in the past 12 years coming through our gates. With our new café opening last October we are very lucky with space from our grounds and ponds, giving customers confidence in these new Covid times. We employ 39 members of staff across all sectors, their energy and commitment really makes Frogmary feel like a family – we are so grateful to all of them for their continued support” said Nick & Claire Bragg
